Celebrating Earth Day in La Mesa!
The Parks and Recreation Foundation celebrated it's first Earth Day at Harry Griffin Park on April 27, 2019. La Mesa Fair Trade teamed up with St. Martin of Tours Academy (a Fair Trade School) to continue the education of fair trade, pass out samples of Tony's Chocolony chocolates and information brochures. The school also donated a fair trade soccer ball for a raffle prize. It was exciting to have Mayor Mark Arapostathis talk to the students and adults about this accomplishment. Fair Trade vendors included Threads Worldwide, Akazi and Sseko. Everyone had a great day! |
